Yet, Louisiana drivers have only a 10-day grace period in which to renew an expired license before a $15 delinquent fee kicks in. I did not realize mine had expired in April when I was pulled in September.I was given a ticket, renewed the license online and showed up in court with my new one. This might not be the most 'legal' of advice, but unless you get pulled you will not receive a fine from NC for being a bit late on renewing your license. With Standard Commercial Fishing Licenses and Retired Standard Commercial Fishing Licenses, the license holder has a year from the expiration date to renew the license, but is not allowed to fish commercially until the license is renewed. All commercial fishing licenses expire on June 30 each year. Most CDLs in North Carolina are valid for a period of 5 years, which means drivers must renew their documents every 5 years in order to maintain active licensure status. Drivers caught operating with a CDL that is expired for more than one year face up to four points on their driving records. The CDL expiration grace period for most CDL types is 1 year. Myself and most Officers will write a ticket for anybody with an expired license that’s a month overdue but I will take back the ticket if you go and get it renewed within 24 hours of the ticket being issued, I will only give a grace period of 4 weeks and only give you a written warning.
